discover your next steps

The Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute (EFLI) in collaboration with the Westchester Women’s Agenda offers GAP, an exciting opportunity for young women and men to take a gap year from formal education and apprentice with a member organization of the Westchester Women’s Agenda, focusing on “Feminist Leadership for Social Change.” The apprenticeship encourages young people to explore their interests and opportunities while gaining hands-on experience and guidance through their journey.

GAP is open to young women and men who have recently graduated from high school, are in college and/or have graduated college and are searching for the next step. For some, the next step is not immediately clear. GAP is a chance for these young people to get involved in a field of their choice and directly experience their dream before continuing on with formal education or entering a chosen career. GAP opens doors to take a road less traveled but no less worthy. Lee Stetson, Dean of Admissions at the University of Pennsylvania says, “Not wanting to break stride is the American way. I don’t think there’s any rational explanation to just run to college.” GAP expands on the EFLI mission of engaging young people with the EILEEN FISHER Inc. mission and practices by providing an opportunity to explore possibilities, follow curiosity and believe in new ideas - even if they don’t fit right now.

This program has been made possible with the generous support of the Elias Foundation and the Eileen Fisher Community Foundation.
